Influencer Outreach

The Challenge

Reimagine the identity of this historic Los Angeles neighborhood to attract businesses, create a sense of creative community for residents, and stimulate economic development.

Solution

A new logo, visual identity and message matrix were developed, along with a system of communication assets including print, digital and social media — all inspired by the creative energy and vibrance of LA’s most colorful district. Imagery, data and story were leveraged to portray the Fashion District as relevant, fresh and evolving.

The Challenge

Create new collateral to serve as both a magazine and viewbook, while reaching a range of audiences — teenage students to alumni of all ages, faculty and donors, and everyone in between.

Solution

Taking a cue from publications that resonate with engineering audiences — like Wired and Popular Mechanics — develop a dynamic brochure for the School, focusing on sharing profiles of faculty, students and alumni "engineering change" on campus, in the field, and across the world.

The Challenge

Develop a communications roadmap to help an important nonprofit reach more people about its work and its role in the community.

Solution

Cut through the jargon to make it easier for people to connect with the mission and vision of the organization. A new logo, identity and suite of communications tools position the organization to reach older adults, community partners, donors, funders and the public.

Launch a $38.5-million philanthropic fund to help LA’s small and midsize arts nonprofits with pandemic recovery.

Solution

On a tight timeline, work with more than a dozen funders to create and refine key messages and develop social media and press strategy. The monthlong campaign resulted in 38 placements and more than 359 million impressions.

Video Storytelling

The Assignment

A 100+ year old nonprofit doing critical work wanted a fresh way to communicate with donors while protecting the identity of its clients.

Solution

Our team developed powerful and moving videos using motion graphics to connect the complex offerings to real-life stories. The videos have been shared on social media, in one-to-one fundraising and at events.

A Noise Within

“We’ve received nothing but compliments. Thank you and your team for your expertise, creativity, and fast, responsive, and brilliant work on the website. It was amazing working with your company.”

Joe Cislowski

Center for Health Care Rights

“They did not suggest simple cosmetic changes or cookie cutter approaches, but really dug deep into our organizational culture and created an entire branding suite that truly embodied our organization’s mission and values. The fact that we deal with extremely complex health care issues did not deter them from helping us to get right to the heart of the matter of the important work we do.”

Kerry Morrison

Hollywood Entertainment District

“I think it is fair to say that under their stewardship for five years, we transformed our highly fragmented approach to communications, event management and media relations into an integrated, efficient plan that pointed us all in the same direction.”

Leadership

Genevieve Haines, president of Haines & Co., counsels C-suite executives through communications challenges and leads large teams in comprehensive campaigns. A frequent speaker across the country on using social media for communications, she has been quoted in the Wall Street Journal and Inc. magazine on technology issues.

Her company has been brought in on projects ranging from the US Census, COVID-19 education for health departments, and advocacy to increase public investment in higher education, to complete rebranding of organizations, the development of complex, multi-faceted campaigns, and crisis communications support.

Previously, Genevieve served as director of integrated communications at UCLA. She quickly built the University’s social networking presence into a nationally recognized leader – selected as a YouTube beta-test channel and a Google case study.

Prior to that, Genevieve spent ten years at a Los Angeles public relations firm where she ran $20 million in programs for First 5 California, and placed Spider-Man Pop-Tarts on The Oprah Winfrey Show.

Genevieve is a current board member and immediate past Chair of the Board of Trustees of Aviva Family & Children’s Services.
